This webinar was made possible by Viatris. Gastroenterologist Dr Peter Barrow started off by providing input on the stats of the incidence of IBS linking to stress, while Dr Korb looked at stress-related IBS and the relationship between the two.

Dr Barrow is a consultant gastroenterologist with a special interest in interventional endoscopy including double-balloon endoscopy and endoscopic ultrasound. He has extensive clinical and research experience in inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease), celiac disease, oesophageal motility disorders and GERD. Dr Barrow currently serves as an Honorary Lecturer at the School of Clinical Medicine, Wits University and has numerous achievements during his career, including being involved as an investigator in several clinical trials and is currently working on three new clinical trials on Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis.
Dr Korb is currently in full-time private practice as a Psychiatrist and Clinical Psychologist in Sandton and consults for SASOL. Annually he has been an invited lecturer at the Departments of Psychology at the University of Johannesburg and the University of Pretoria. He is the immediate past Board Chairman of the South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG). He has participated in many clinical trials for various pharmaceutical companies.
He regularly attends and presents at local and international conferences, workshops, presents posters, courses and CPD Programmes.
He has published in both peer-reviewed journals and in the daily press and enjoys doing regular radio and TV interviews.
