Dr Musarrath Raboobee

Dr Musarrath Raboobee is a GP with a special interest in aesthetic medicine and dermatology.
Dr Raboobee obtained her BSc in Biomedical Science from the University of KZN in 2006. She subsequently obtained her MBChB from the same university in 2011.
Her internship was completed at Groote Schuur Hospital in 2013 and she thereafter went on to do her community service in 2014 in Cape Town.
In 2015, she obtained her Certificate in Aesthetic Medicine from the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine as well as a Certificate in Diagnostic Ultrasound from the Foundation of Professional Development. She completed the Advanced Cardiac Life Support certificate in 2016.
Dr Raboobee has been writing medical articles for the Medical Chronicle since 2015. She has co-authored a publication on Suction Blister grafting, an innovative, new surgical technique for the treatment of Vitiligo. This was the first such procedure done in South Africa. The article was published in the Dermatology Society of Southern Africa annual magazine.
Dr Raboobee presented on "The Science of Photoprotection" (sun protection) in 2018 at the Skin Cancer Foundation's annual conference which was held in Johannesburg and Durban at the prestigous Oyster Box Hotel.
She hosted "Medical Files", a show on Radio Al Ansaar where she discussed various medical topics and interviews other doctors and specialists.
She has been trained on IPL laser hair removal by the Danish company, Ellipse. In addition, she has also been trained on lip fillers, PDO Threads and Ceccarelli lipolysis, and Xela redermalization.
Dr M Raboobee is now certified in the managment of Atopic Dermatitis and Urticaria by the Allergy Foundation of South Africa and the University of Cape Town.
Dr Raboobee is now a member of the South African Society of Travel Medicine (SASTM) and actively promotes vaccination for vaccine-preventable diseases, particularly before travel.
