Bio

Dr Marlin McKay was born in Cape Town, raised in Swaziland, schooled in KZN and has lived in Gauteng since 1983. He qualified as a Medical Doctor from Wits University in 1991 and opened his own practice 2 years later. Since then, he has built up a large practice, as well as a wealth of experience in all disciplines of medicine, in particular type 2 diabetes, HIV, obesity and more recently Covid-19. After starting out as the Regular Medical Expert on 3Talk with Noeleen in 2011, he still features regularly on TV as well as a host of radio stations where his opinion is sought on current medical topics and events. He is a key opinion leader in the medical industry and advises several pharmaceutical companies on new drugs and strategy. He also lectures doctors, pharmacists and nurses on the latest advances in disease management. In the corporate space, he conducts numerous webinars on wellness in the workplace. Dr McKay has served as full-time Pastor of Maraisburg Family Fellowship Church in Roodepoort since 2012. He is a regular guest speaker at Church conferences, particularly around both Men and Women’s Health issues.
