Practising stillness to revitalise your inner self

The pharmacy offers a rich tapestry of remedies for promoting wellness, but navigating this terrain requires a blend of scientific rigour, clinical expertise, and empathy. As pharmacists, you have a unique opportunity to serve as trusted guides, helping your patients harness the healing power of nature while ensuring their safety and wellbeing. By embracing nature's cure for wellness, we can journey toward optimal health together.

The prescription starts with you. This time, I will not give up, no matter what. Nature has long been revered for its ability to heal and promote wellness. Across cultures and throughout history, natural remedies derived from plants, minerals, and other elements of the natural world have been used to alleviate ailments and enhance overall wellbeing.

The pharmacist has been too busy treating only the symptoms of these issues when they arise; this time, the re-invention of the pharmacist needs to start with the following:

  • Let us call this the inside-out approach. (Invent, Innovate, Integrate-instilling animals in nature to guide us)
  • Gain insights into cutting-edge wellness practices rooted in nature.
  • Network with like-minded individuals and experts in the field.
  • Participate in interactive sessions and discussions.
  • Earn valuable clinical  points in wellness for your professional development.

It is time we renew our lives with the vitality of the spirit within us. Use the concept of Stillness to regain your power of the present as a pharmacist.

Practising stillness to revitalise your inner self is the key to unlocking your inner consciousness. Use the early hours of the morning or the quietness of the night to engage in inner stillness. To achieve this, use the five-finger slow breathing to create focus and stillness (see below for methodology). You can consciously direct your thoughts and internal dialogue to reflect momentarily, bounce, strategise, and revert to the present.

Quoting Deepak Chopra, "In stillness, inner energies spontaneously wake up and bring about the appropriate transformation for every situation." Using this philosophy, it becomes easy for the pharmacist to listen to the needs and dispense an appropriate remedy to an individual for their current symptoms.

Becoming still and glorifying in this stillness allows you to take control of your mind and awaken your inner consciousness. This allows the body's every breath to refuel and energise every cell and to purify these cells for a better you. Use the power breathing technique to connect with infinite possibilities (see below). We connect with the infinite possibilities and ignite our spirit and inner creativity.

Can pharmacists learn from these sciences to recapture their internal mechanisms towards regaining themselves as a vitalised living being?

We must focus on the science that has always existed. The body's cells that are diseased by thoughts and feelings and the mental and emotional states that are traumatised by adverse events can all be rectified. This, in turn, creates a wholesome functional being. We must seek assistance to identify the root cause that proliferates our physical wellbeing.

FINGER BREATHING:

This is a deep and slow breathing technique through the nose which stimulates relaxation and calms the body down. Hold out your hand in front with your palm open and fingers spread out. We will trace around the edges of the fingers with your opposite hand's index finger. Breathe in as you trace up the finger (1-2-3), pause at the tip (1-2-3), and then breathe out as you trace down the finger (1-2-3).

Start at the bottom of your thumb, tracing up the thumb slowly, pausing at the tip of the thumb, then tracing down the thumb and then pausing at the finger groove. Continue this manner until you have traced all your fingers on the hand. If you are comfortable, close your eyes during the technique; it will deepen your awareness and experience. Once you have completed a round, shake your hands, rest momentarily, and think about how you feel now. Are you feeling calmer, or do you want to take another five? Then go again.

In summary, breathing aims to nurture holistic wellbeing, foster innovation, and enhance integration in nature's cure for wellness.

This simple aspect of nature's cure to wellness will help you in all aspects of life.
