Dr Ter Morshuizen
Dr Ter Morshuizen is a registrar in the Department of Haematology and Molecular Medicine at the University of the Witwatersrand. He completed an elective programme in Haematology at the University of Oxford during his undergraduate training, fostering a deep interest in clinical, paediatric, and benign haematology, as well as molecular diagnostics like flow cytometry. He is actively involved in teaching and research, receiving the South African Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis prize in 2023 for promising junior research in foeto-maternal haemorrhage.
Prof Jacobson
Prof Jacobson holds an MBChB from the University of Pretoria and specialist degrees in Clinical Haematology and Surgery, FRCS from Glasgow, MMed, PhD from Wits, and FCPath. He is an Adjunct Professor at the University of the Witwatersrand and a member of the Departments of Molecular Medicine and Haematology at the National Health Laboratory Service. Prof Jacobson is a founding member and currently serves as President of the SASTH. He is also currently the Executive Vice-President of the International Union of Angiology. His extensive career includes research, teaching, and clinical practice focused on thrombosis.
