UNDERSTANDING ALLERGIC CONJUNCTIVITIS

Allergic conjunctivitis is an allergic reaction that occurs when the eye is exposed to allergens such as pollen, pet dander, dust mites, or certain foods. The immune response to these allergens triggers the release of histamine and other inflammatory mediators in the eye, leading to the characteristic symptoms of itching, redness, tearing, and swelling.
