Those with allergic rhinitis (AR) and recurrent sinusitis think it is just that again and don’t test for Covid, so they keep spreading the virus. So, if we treat AR well, parents would know if the child has ‘sinus’, they need to consult with Dr and possibly test for Covid.

Dr Lodder bio 

Dr Corli Lodder practises as a General Practitioner in South Africa. She has a special interest in allergic diseases and is a member of the Allergy Society of SA. In 2003 she received the Diploma in Allergology at the SA College of Medicine and in 2005 opened one of the first dedicated allergy clinics in private practice in Alberton. She was involved in the writing of new guidelines for the treatment of Allergic Rhinitis as a member of the Allergic Rhinitis Working Group of SA which was published in the SAMJ in 2006. In 2007 she was appointed as a part-time researcher in the Department of Immunology at the University of Pretoria. The results of her research were presented at congresses both locally and internationally and resulted in four publications in International Journals. She was awarded a PhD in Nov 2011. The title of her PhD is: “Investigation of the neutrophil-directed anti-inflammatory properties of the cysteinyl leukotriene receptor antagonist, montelukast.” For 24 years, practising as a GP in Boksburg, East Rand, and running an Allergy clinic in the practice. Relocated to George, Western Cape, April 2019 again practising as GP and running an Allergy Clinic. She is actively involved in lecturing at CME events mainly for general practitioners and pharmacists. Member of The Allergic Rhinitis Working Group Of SA for the Allergy Organisation, setting guidelines for the treatment of Allergic Rhinitis in SA.
