Prof Carol-Ann Benn is a Fellow of the College of Surgeons of South Africa with a special interest in Breast Disease. She is the former Head of the Helen Joseph Breast Care Clinic. She is recognised internationally as a leader in breast disease care and research. As a Professor in the Department of Surgery at WITS, she also contributes towards the education of healthcare professionals. Prof Benn is a founding member of the Breast Health Foundation and has established various Breast Health Care forums and outreach programmes. She is passionate about the improvement of women’s health care and the uplifting of women in society, and has opened channels to increase public awareness about breast health issues.
